Dr. Demetri Michel received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2018 from the University of Hartford. He started his career with Fox Rehabilitation home health care agency making house calls. In addition to being a Staff Physical Therapist, he was also the Regional Mentor and Clinical Instructor for southern Brooklyn. Dr. Michel has maintained his CPR/AED and First Aid certification since 2014.

Always striving to personalize each and every case he has encountered, he takes the time and effort to get to know each patient before treatment even begins. After a comprehensive evaluation, he reviews his treatment plan with the patient. Dr. Michel emphasizes early patient education and active patient involvement in the plan of care. He ensures that both parties are working towards successful outcomes and meeting the patient’s goals.

Dr. Michel has successfully treated various orthopedic conditions, and neurological conditions such as: CVA/TBI/MS/PD, vestibular disorders, TMJ disorders, and acute and/or chronic neck and back pain. Dr. Michel implements a variety of manual therapy skills into his treatments, such as: instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), joint mobilization, manual stretching, myofascial and muscle release techniques. He is currently studying to become a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) through the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS).

In his spare time, Demetri loves spending time with his wife Nicole and their dog Zena. He also enjoys many forms of exercise, watching and playing sports, or relaxing at the beach. Demetri was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and is a proud alumnus of Xavier High School and member of Kimisis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church. His strong connection to the community allows him to make a difference in the health and well-being of its members.
