Dr. Marcello Sarrica
PT, DPT, OCS, COMT, CSCS
Over the past 17+ years in practice, Dr. Marcello Sarrica has successfully treated thousands of orthopedic and sports medicine injuries in people from 11 years old to 94 years old.
Dr. Sarrica believes that high quality one-on-one physical therapy tailored to one’s needs is the most effective way to get patients better, faster. In his work with both young and older adults, he seeks to help people reach their goals safely and confidently. His focus on educating patients about their injuries enables them to be engaged fully in their healing and recovery.
Dr. Sarrica received his doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006 from Long Island University. He was awarded the department's highest honor of “clinical excellence.” He received his board certification as an orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). Dr. Sarrica complements this training with a certification as an Maitland Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist. Dr. Sarrica is also certified in CPR/AED by the American Heart Association.
In addition to his practice with individuals, Dr. Sarrica worked with Balance Integration Corporation for the Bloomberg Corporation in New York City as a Physical Therapist and Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has also co-authored a chapter, "Other Lumbar Spine Disorders" in Therapeutic Programs for Musculoskeletal Disorders (Demos Medical, 2012), a textbook designed specifically for Physical Therapy residents and fellows.
During his leisure time, Marcello enjoys spending time with his family, weight training and taking long walks with his wife Patrizia and three children Valentina, Giancarlo & Arianna.
